Hello everyone,
This is what I worked on this weekend besides the cards for our upcoming Holiday Stamp-A-Stack. These ornaments and trees were not my ideas but I sure had fun making them. You could easily add rub-ons to the ornaments to have holiday greetings on them.
Basically, I bought these ornaments last year at Michaels at the end of the season. They are clear. Take the top off and be careful they are sharp in spots. I took Designer paper and rolled it around a pen. The strips were 3/4" x 6". I think I used 12 or so for this ornament. Put the rolled strips into the ornament. Once full, I put the top back on and added ribbon. You could also add rub-ons or even add glitter inside the ornament to make it sparkle.
This project was a little more fun than taking the acrylic paints and swirling them around in the clear ornaments to make swirls of many colors. This is because the paint didn't have to dry out. It was done as soon as you put the top on....love it!
For the Designer Paper Trees all you need is the Big Shot and dies. These trees were made from the Pennant Bigz Xl Die (on page 4 of the big shot catalog). I used both the large and the small pennant. Just fold over the Designer paper to run it through the Big Shot. Then adhere them to each other. It was too easy! Plus, we have snowflake dies. You could put a snowflake on top for a tree topper. I think these will make great centerpieces at my Holiday Stamp-A-Stack. I hope you can join me.
The designer paper is from the Frosty Day Designer Series Paper in the Holiday Mini Catalog.
Okay, I will post again soon. If you are waiting to find out about the Snow Flurries Class, I will be posting info about that at the end of the month. Time just got away from me this week. I have too much to catch up on! Hope you all are enjoying this fall weather!
One more thing: As some of you found out while placing orders on-line via my demo site some items were unavailable when you tried to add them to the cart. I called Stampin' Up! and they said this meant the inventory of that item is low. To better meet the needs of the new customers online they only want to place orders without the possibility of an item having to be back-ordered for their first experience with SU! This doesn't mean the item is out of stock. If you would like that item then just place the order directly through me, your SU! demo. You can email me your orders at [email protected] and I will be happy to help. Hope that makes sense.
Happy Stampin',
Corene
