Valentine Card and Treat

Hello Everyone,

Here is a very simple Valentine card.  I used the I {heart} Hearts Stamp Set.  Using the Clear Mount Stamp Sets it's so easy to see exactly where I wanted to place the hearts.  Love that!  Punches used: Small Heart Punch, Pinking Hearts Border. 

I'm A Sucker For You!  I showed this Lollipop treat to my husband and I think he was just messing with me and asked what is in it?  I thought it was obvious...A heart lollipop!  I think he just didn't think the lollipop showed the arrow going through the heart very well.  But now as I look at the picture...it doesn't show up so well.  I'm sure it will still be enjoyed!  Lollipop, Lollipop...

Heart Treat Cup Saga

Hello Everyone,

Wow, what a week!  I thought I would have a chance to post at some point but things were a little busy around here.  I'm getting ready for the Sale-A-Bration Open House this Sunday from 1-4pm.  If you are planning on coming please register so I have make-n-takes available for you!  Come try the new punches, Clear Mount Stamps, and see all the Sale-A-Bration items too!  It should be fun.  I did get a lot of stamping done this week so I will be posting new cards for you too!

Here is the first Card I made for my Heart Treat Cups and let me tell you these cups had me baffled for a little while.  I wanted to use them and be able to get the inside candy out of them without destroying the card.  Since the heart can't be entered into a piece of card stock that far it makes it tricky for getting it to work out. 

Here's card #1:  As you can see...love the layout (you may make this card this Sunday...haven't decided yet) but how to get the candy without destroying the card?

Here's card #2:  As you can see I put the candy cup on top of the heart I originally stamped and then stamped the heart on another piece of whisper white card stock.  Then cut it out and punched out the heart.  Placed the heart over top of the cup to not show the edges of the cup.

 
   

Now, at this point I decided to get a little creative.  I changed my design so that I could fit the card stock into the heart punch and make it centered.  Inspired by Melissa S. blog.  Then I was trying to decide how to make a normal sized card with an opening in the inside of the card to get to the goodies.  I realized that no punch I owned would accomplish this for me unless I tried to make the card small and let it be the focal point of the card.  (Oh....I did try to use the SU! perforator behind the card stock and that just looked sloppy.  My thought was the recipient could tear open the back if I made it perforated.  It was a thought!  Some are great thoughts they just don't turn out like I miraculously envision it!)

So here's what I came up with Card #3:  It's a smaller card on the front base of a real A2 sized card.  I punched a heart in the front and in the back I punched a 3/4" circle to allow for the candy to be released.  I needed to cover it up so I punched another heart out of designer paper and added a brad to the corner to allow it to swing open and closed.  Works great, however candy can fall out if you aren't too careful since it's not shut and locked...but hmmm...that's an idea.  Another brad on the opposite side it could slide under may work too.  Anyway, I just didn't want it to look to busy.  So when this worked I stopped working on the card because, let's face it...I spent 3 hours playing with different ideas.  The longest I have ever spent on one card!  Thank goodness dinner was in the crock pot that night!
