Remember we had scraps from punching out the scalloped squares for the card above.  Peggy took them home and said she would come up with something.  Wouldn't you know less then 24 hours later she arrives at my house with a completed scrapbook page.  We all got a hoot out of her yesterday.  Nothing is trash!  Ha Ha...

First Silver Spring Meetup Meeting

Card Club Cards February

Hello Everyone,

Well we are finally getting things going back to normal around here.  Plenty of rescheduling to get Card Club in this month.  We were able to stamp on Monday with snow falling down again.  This time it really didn't stick to the ground.  We are so thankful for that!  Here are a couple of the cards we made.  This is the Vintage Vogue set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Love these Clear Mount Stamps!

Check out our Blizzard!

Hello Everyone,

Luckily today as I was on my way out to shovel our drive 4 guys asked to shovel the driveway.  Whoo Hoo!  Of course it was worth the little bit of cash cause I would have been out there all day.  We have spent some time outside today in the sun.  Our balmy 33 degrees.  It was nice.  We were able to get some fresh air.  We are hoping to get out of the neighborhood soon.

I Love to Swing!

Hello Everyone,

As I sit here in the middle of the 2nd Blizzard this week I can only dream of going to the park to swing.  That was one of my favorite things to do growing up.  In fact when Steve and I were dating he would take me to a park and tell me to go swing if I was grumpy.  It always worked and made my mood change. 

I'm hoping I can shovel this 15 inches of snow easily today however with 30 mph or more wind gusts it might not work out as well as I have planned in my head!  So just to give you an idea of what we have been dealing with here in Maryland we haven't left our house since Friday last week.  It's not that we haven't wanted to it has been because we haven't been able to even drive out of our driveway.  The bulldozer came by and made one path yesterday which piled Ice and snow at the end of our driveway.  In the 13 years I have lived here we have never seen a bulldozer.  Usually it's a plow but we also have never waited this many days either to see the first sign of a plow. 

It's probably laughable to those who bear these kinds of winters in the north but for us who haven't seen this much snow before it's unbelievable.  I've been enjoying the beauty of watching the snow fall and haven't been pressed about leaving.  We have plenty of food, we have electricity and each other.  That's all that matters.  

I placed a Stampin' Up! order last week and it was suppose to deliver yesterday.  The UPS Tracking says, Due to emergency weather conditions we are unable to deliver.  It's so sad!  I want to play with some of the things I ordered but in fact even the UPS truck can't make it down our street.  We will see when we get that delivery!  I'm thinking not until next week.

Oh Well, More time to stamp.

Spring Card

Hello Everyone,

Well, since the snow has cramped all our plans here in Maryland I have been getting a lot of stamping done.  Today I made a very springy card since the 30 inches of snow in front of my house have been starring back at me since Friday. 

We haven't seen a snow plow yet and to our surprise on the nightly news tonight we saw my in-laws house!  It was because they lost power on Friday and they were reporting on areas without power.  My in-laws finally moved to my sister-in-laws yesterday since it was too cold.  We would have had them here except they couldn't get to us.  We have no way to get them here.  Funny thing the news then reported on another part of Montgomery County without power and it's a road in our neighborhood.  Actually only 10 houses down our street!  We are truly lucky that we have kept our power through the Blizzard of 2010!  Fingers crossed since we are expecting another 15 inches or so Tuesday into Wednesday and the wind is suppose to kick up.  I'm dreaming of Spring! Here is a 4x4 card.

Stampin' Up! Borders and Corner Punches Video

Hello Everyone,

Well it's been very snowy here in Silver Spring, MD.  We are enjoying being snowed in.  I could have gone out and started shoveling the driveway today or taking the yard stick and measuring the snow, which by the looks of it is closer to 3 feet.  OR I could decide to stay in and stamp.  Hmm....can you guess what I did?  That's right...I stamped.  I will have a lot to show you over the next couple of weeks.  Can't wait to stamp tomorrow too.  That is before the Superbowl comes on...I just love to watch for the new commercials.  I hope they have good ones that make you laugh out loud.  That's probably the only time I ever watch commercials since the invention of TIVO. 

I'm happy to share with you the new video Stampin' Up! has posted for everyone.  Bonnie Thurber is a hoot as she explains the corner punches and border punches.

Local Card Club February

Hello Ladies,

Due to the expected 2 feet of snow....I'm gonna go ahead and cancel Friday sessions and Sunday sessions.  I will keep the Monday sessions open in case we are all able to get around town.  Although, Steve just pointed out that parking may be difficult since the streets were only one-way throughout the neighborhood after the December Storm. 

So many variables... My weekend the next weekend is filled with stamping events and family parties.  I will put on the calendar Monday Feb 15th evening hours, Friday Feb 19th evening hours, as alternate dates for card club.  We will just put our club orders in when we can.
