Nursery Suite and Baby Bundle

Hello Everyone,

Here is a sample of some of the quick cards I have made recently for baby showers, and baby deliveries.  This has been one of those years.  About 9 years ago my husband and I had 12 weddings to attend in one year.  Some we were even in and they took place all over the east coast.  3 of those weddings were one day.  That was a difficult day but luckily they were all within an hours drive of each other.  I'm sure some of you out there have had those experiences. 

Well this year we have had 14 newly expected babies!  So far the count is Girls-7 and Boys-2.  The rest are to arrive soon.  I feel like I have been living at Babies R Us!  Some are family and some are friends and we are so happy for all of them.

Three of these babies were born this month- all girls!  So I've been busy sending out congratulation cards.  The sample cards above are made with the Nursery Suite Designer Series Paper and the Baby Bundle Stamp Set.  Did you know Stampin' Up! is selling Nursery Suite Quick Accent Sheets (118709)?  They are on page 176 in the catalog.  These self adhesive die cuts are awesome.  So I tried to see how many cards I could make with this kit and the Nursery Suite DSP.  Turns out...a whole lot!  Heres what I did.

I took 12x12 Whisper White Card Stock and cut it into 6x6 pieces.  Fold those in half to make the card base.  Then take the Nursery Suite DSP and cut it into 3x3 pieces. This is the first layer of the card.  The Nursery Suite Accent sheets have 2 sheets one is the design element sheet and the other is the border sheet.  I cut the border sheet at 3" to give me a layering border for the cards.  Then I add the design element I want to use to complete the card.  That's it.  Not even a single stamp is used.  Think of all the cards you could create.  Or better yet sign up for my class on the 18th of September and I will precut your supplies for you to make 32 cards!

You can always step up the class to include the Baby Bundle Stamp set(120576) featured above in the first picture.  Or you can choose the So Cute Stamp Set (120612)to incorporate matching images.  Both of these sets are found on page 79 of the Big Catalog.

So now you can see what I did to fill my card box for all of these baby deliveries and I have enough to last me a little while longer.  Thank goodness!

Aviary Punch Highlighting

Hello Everyone,

At Convention this year Heather Summers gave a great demo on Punch Highlighting and the Aviary Stamp Set.  I cased her sample...changed it a little and came up with the card above. 

Thursday night at my demo meeting the make-n-take was the card below. 

 

We used a bunch of punches: Scallop Border Punch, 3/4" and 1" circle punches, and the window word punch.  The card base is So Saffron and the Tangerine Designer Series Paper comes from the Brights Designer Series Paper Collection.  I added a little Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon and white gel pen dots to the scalloped border.

Word Play Balloons

Hello Everyone,

This card reminds me of my cousins baby room many years ago.  My aunt had a balloon themed room with Bright Primary colors.  For this card I used Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, and Bashful Blue Card Stock.  The brand new oval punch makes perfect balloons.  This oval punch will be available on September 1st.  Add it to your wish list!  It will complement another holiday mini stamp set too!

The sentiment "Wish Big" comes from the Word Play Stamp Set.  It's full of large stamp sentiments.

On Your Birthday!

Hello Everyone,

Here's a card I made based off of a card that Carrie showcased at Convention.  I used the Play Date Designer Series Paper.  I adhered it to our new Sizzix Adhesive Sheets (these will be available September 1st!) and then punched out stars with the star punch from each of the patterns.  

This card base is a 4x8 piece of crumb cake card stock folded to make a 4x4 card.  I took my paper piercer and punched two holes.  Threaded the linen thread through each side and knotted it.  Being sure to leave the ribbon dangling a bit.  Added gold brads to the holes too.

Then I cut off the tip of each star and peeled off the backing to lay it on to the card over top of the linen thread.  So quick and easy to make this cute little card.  The sentiment is from the On Your Birthday Stamp Set (111664).

Plant Hope

Hello Everyone,

 

This stamp just makes me feel like going on vacation.  It has a soothing, relaxing feel to it and makes me feel at peace.  The designer paper is retiring this month.  It is the Island Oasis Designer Paper.   Get it before it's gone.

The palm tree is stamped in Soft Suede and the edges are sponged in Soft Suede.

Greeting Card Kids

Hello Everyone,

The Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set is just adorable.  This card is a z-fold card using the new Candy Cane Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The scallop circle is made from the Big Shot Scallop Circle #2 Die.  The brand new 2 1/2" Circle Punch and the Designer Paper will be available on September 1st.  Put these items on your wish list!  Sept. 1st is right around the corner.  

The colors of the card are Garden Green, Blushing Bride, Real Red, Whisper White.

Big Shot Die Storage

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share with you the Big Shot Die Storage offered from Stampin' Up!  Look at how many little dies fit in this small box. 

Here is the medium box...it holds 10 Bigz or Original Dies.

Here are the inserts that hold each of the dies in place.

Each box includes the inserts.  The one on the right comes in the small box.  The one on the left comes in the medium box and two of the one on the left comes in the large box below.

These have made my stamp room look tidy.  I love that!

Catch the Fever Event

Hello Everyone,

Here are the sample cards from the Catch the Fever Event we had this weekend.  We had a great time.  We even had a couple people sign up to be demonstrators!  Welcome ladies.  I know you will have a fantastic time.  Plus, you get to attend the Stampin' Up! All of these cards are made from the products included in the Stampin' Up! Starter Kit. 

 

Can you see how I trimmed off 3/4" from the front of the card and placed a piece of 1"x 5 1/2" designer series paper on the inside of the card?  The picture below may show it a little better.

All of these cards were inspired by the demonstrator theater class at the Stampin' Up! Convention.  A demo by the name of Kristin showcased the projects from the Starter kit.  She had so many ideas and it inspired me to create a class around it.  These are the kinds of inspiration SU! provides at it's events.  Convention, Leadership and Regionals.  They definitely keep me coming back for more.  I just love it!

This card is made from the single stamp in the starter kit.  It happened to be a free stamp we got for attending Convention.  This is a 4x4 card.  Too cute.

Card Club Cards August

Hello Everyone,

Here are the Card Club Cards we made for August.  I won these Brights buttons at Convention and decided to use them on the card.  I can't believe how many buttons come in one container!  It keeps on giving. 

Since I had only a limited supply of the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper each club member had a choice of Daffodil Birds or Baja Breeze Birds.  Funny thing...it really turned out quite even.  I thought most would choose the Baja Breeze but it was really half and half.

Fabric and Stampin' Up!

At Convention Shelli was wearing this Tree Skirt as a Skirt.  She took it off and put it on the base of the Christmas Tree.  It was a WOW!  Below is a little closer shot.

Itty Bitty Buttons and Punches

Hello Everyone,

Today I was playing with the Itty Bitty Buttons and Punches.  I came up with these 3x3 cards.  At first I had the buttons on top of the punched out flowers but I just didn't like the look.  Then I decided to flip them over and add a jewel.  I just loved the 3D look and the bling.

Here's a card with the opposite look.  I punched the flower and added the button on top.
